Product description

The Bitaxe Gamma Copper Pro is a Bitaxe Gamma with an AXP60 Copper Pro fitted at the factory: a Thermalright AXP60-X50 Full with 210 grams of copper, two heat pipes and a 60 mm PWM fan. You know the chip and board from the Gamma 601: one BM1370 ASIC, the ESP32-S3, the 0.91" OLED and 2.4 GHz WiFi. What differs is the factory setting. It ships with our OSM-OS image, which clocks the chip at 750 MHz. That gives around 1.5 TH/s at about 22 watts, roughly 15 J/TH. The copper cooler lets the miner hold that clock after hours under load instead of throttling back from heat.

Everything runs on AxeOS in the browser: enter pool and Bitcoin address, set frequency, voltage and fan curve yourself, follow hashrate and temperature live. If you want to push further, there is headroom. With good airflow, a strong power supply and tuning in small steps, up to about 2 TH/s are possible, depending on the chip and your settings. We cannot promise that. The included 5 V power supply with 6 A covers the factory setting; on the way towards 2 TH/s you need a supply with more reserve.

Who is the Gamma Copper Pro for? Anyone who wants more hashrate from a single BM1370 without swapping a cooler themselves, and tinkerers who want thermal headroom for tuning. If your miner runs on default settings in a cool room anyway, the more affordable Bitaxe Gamma 601 is enough. Copper Pro is our name for a full-copper Thermalright cooler fitted at the factory. On the Gamma, as on the Nerdaxe Gaia Copper Pro, that is the AXP60 Copper Pro, which is also available on its own for retrofitting. We previously sold this model as the Bitaxe Copperzilla. The miner runs without a manufacturer account or cloud. We ship within 24 hours.

Which parts of this miner are open, and under which licence, is listed in our overview of open-source Bitcoin miners.

Frequently asked questions about Bitaxe Gamma Copper Pro | 1.5 TH/s

How is it different from the Bitaxe Gamma 601?
Same chip, same board, with two differences: the Gamma Copper Pro carries the AXP60 Copper Pro from the factory, with 210 g of copper, two heat pipes and a 60 mm fan, and runs our OSM-OS image at 750 MHz. That takes it to around 1.5 TH/s at about 22 watts, while the Gamma 601 does around 1.3 TH/s at 15 to 18 watts. Per kilowatt-hour the Gamma 601 is slightly more efficient; the Gamma Copper Pro gets more hashrate out of the same chip.
How much power does it draw?
Around 22 watts at the factory setting, so about 16 kWh a month in continuous operation. Our mining calculator shows what that costs at your electricity price.
Are 2 TH/s guaranteed?
No. Out of the box it does around 1.5 TH/s. With tuning in AxeOS, a strong power supply and good airflow, up to about 2 TH/s are possible. How far your unit gets depends on the individual chip and the room temperature. Our AxeOS tuning guide shows how to go about it in small steps.
Is the included power supply enough?
For the factory setting, yes: it delivers 5 V at 6 A through the barrel jack, so 30 watts, and the miner needs around 22. It does not run on USB-C; that port is only for flashing and the serial console. If you tune towards 2 TH/s you reach the limit of the supply; then a quality 5 V power supply with more reserve belongs in the setup.
How loud is the Gamma Copper Pro?
We have no measured dB value and do not quote one. The 60 mm fan of the AXP60 moves the same air at lower speed than the 40 mm fan of the Gamma 601, but at 22 watts the Gamma Copper Pro also dissipates more heat. At the factory setting the unit stays unobtrusive; overclocked, it becomes audible. You set the fan curve yourself in AxeOS.
Is it good for solo mining?
Yes. In AxeOS you enter a solo pool such as our own pool.opensourceminers.de and your own Bitcoin address. 1.5 TH/s means around 15 percent more attempts per block than the Gamma 601; whether and when you hit a block is still down to chance.

Why buy from Open Source Miners?

We don't sell anything we don't run ourselves: our own fleet mines around the clock on the exact hardware in this shop.

Open firmware instead of a black box

Bitaxe, Nerdaxe and NerdQaxe are open-source Bitcoin miners: the Bitaxe runs AxeOS, the Nerdaxe family runs NerdOS, a fork of it. Every setting is visible, and clock and voltage are yours to set. Flash firmware updates in minutes with our free web flasher, right in the browser and without extra software.

In stock in the EU, shipped within 24 hours

Every miner marked as available is in stock and ships within 24 hours with tracking, with no customs fees and no import-VAT surprises. Shop availability is always up to date; if something sells out, the restock alert notifies you first.

Support from miners, for miners

We run Bitaxe and NerdQaxe miners around the clock ourselves. Questions about solo mining, pool setup, WiFi or cooling are answered by someone who has the same device on their own desk. In English or German.

Bitcoin only, and you can pay with it

Our miners only compute SHA-256 for Bitcoin. We carry no altcoin miners and make no "cloud mining" promises. Pay by Lightning or on-chain, by card or PayPal, as a guest without an account.
